Chainlink LINK News -

The Bank of England has partnered with blockchain oracle provider chainlink to pilot atomic settlements using tokenized assets under Project Meridian. This initiative marks a strategic push to bridge traditional finance with decentralized systems through the bank's Synchronisation Lab platform.

Eighteen institutions will participate in the six-month lab starting spring 2026, testing synchronization use cases for RTGS account holders and asset ledger operators. Chainlink's role in enabling next-generation UK financial infrastructure highlights growing institutional demand for hybrid blockchain solutions.

The project builds on the Bank's October 2025 launch of its Synchronisation Lab, designed to explore business models for real-time gross settlement synchronization. Market observers note this mirrors broader central bank digital currency (CBDC) experimentation trends among G20 nations.
